Pinocchio has been around for 100’s of years and still helps bring family and new audience to its magical ways without ever feeling it’s a never old time book. But the Chickenshed version helps you feel so much a part of the show with its wonderful music and its amazing costumes and wonderful take on the story of dreams.
This is not the 1st time that Chickenshed have done this story and I am sure that it want be the last but the one unique thing about Chickenshed version of this show is that from the last time they did this piece there has been a lot changes to the show just by adding new characters and some new songs but all so keeping some of the most loved bits of the show from the last time like ‘free time’ to Another life to live’ but still keeping that Chickenshed magic in the heat of the piece.
I feel that it is so important to have show like Pinocchio to be put on at festive times like this as it is one of the only times of year where families friends and where everyone can be together enjoying this absolute amazing show that the wonderful Chickenshed are putting on in the theatre in Southgate.
Murat i am unsure if this is another marketing piece or an academic draft?
ReplyDeleteMurat, Is this piece aiming to be your Academic style of writing? Acadmic writing is about drawing on the writings of others to prove / disprove a theory/statement that you have made. I am a little unsure about what you are trying to say here and I get the impression from your writing that you are also. For your academic writing why don't you look at what people have written on wha has previously been written about production sof the fairytale (look at Peters example of Othello in the handbook). If you struggle to find published texts on this then maybe you could look at the process of how the Chicken Shed divised/ put together this piece. What theatre techniques did you use? Improvisation? Where there any practioners that influenced your work? What process did you go through to create the piece? What style of theatre is your production? Panto? Satire?
ReplyDeleteThese are just some of the angles that I could think that you could approach your work on. Think about the process you went through making the production and see where you can relate this to your knowledge of theatre practioners and recognised processes.
Make sure you use quotes in your work and use the recognised Harvard referencing system. I have used this in my academic writing style if you want to have a look at an example, Tasha has also used this well in her academic writing style and also Abi. It may be a informative learning exercise for you to look at as many examples of this as possible, analyse what you think has worked well and evaluate why and how they have achieved this.
