Written Style 3 Draft 3

The story of Pinocchio has been around for 100’s of years, there has been many adaption of this story. Most people well know this story as many people would have seen the Disney version as a child with their family.

This is not the first time Chicken Shed has done Pinocchio as a Christmas show, but the difference is with a the Chickenshed version that it does not have your normal pantomime styles show as many different companies put on at Christmas time.

Pinocchio is so known for the Disney sometimes when come to see a theatre version of the story people want it to be the same as the one they loved as a child. But with the version of the story the way that it has been done has taken so far way of the from the Disney version but still have the magic of the story and Film.

As someone who as a child I was not fan of the story I do feel that after seen this production of this show I do feel that it has changed my point of view on this story. As they have taken this story and made it not as dark as it is in the book and they have done this by making the story more fun based then the way it was before as they have taken out the bit where the children that skip school and go and have fun and drink beer and smoke by taken them to the land of Freetime but still keeping the fact that they turn in to donkeys but not showing them turn in to them as some companies have done. Which I feel has made the story have the feel of more of a family feel to it has before it was a bit dark for children.

A never big way that I do feel that they have made the story more of a family story is by add some many songs in to the show which feel more like a family show and also gives the audience more of a chance to feel a part of the show and also helps it be more of a open piece of work as if you have never seen the Disney version you can still full in love with these songs.

Pinocchio has had many different versions of its story. I do feel that the most loved versions of the story. But I do believe that people are still going to have the Disney version as the most loved one of all time but I do feel that this version of Pinocchio does show you a different side to this lovely story by given it more of a Family feel to it by leaving the Dark side of the story out.

Written Task 2 Deft 2

The stage was sit all the audience was in there seats. Backstage there was no sound it was like everyone was just in the zone of the show. Everyone was waiting for the 1st song in Act 2 to start. I could feel the air passing thought my hair it was like I was outside on the street where Pinocchio house was.

All kids in the show were so taken in by the hype of the show. So the lights went up you could feel the bass from the drums in your skin the lights in the back stage area where blue like the sea. The School Boys was going to start any second all the boys were ready you could feel there characters were coming alive even in the backstage area you could feel the audience was have a good time in the show so that overwhelming feeling was coming as you wait to go on the stage as is was the first time they were going to meet the school boys.

So the time come and it was time to go on stage I could butterflies in my stomach as I want this scene to go so well. So the time came to go on stage the lights were really bright the audience where still amazed at the fairies that were on stage you could still see some of the blue piece of material on the floor of the stage that the fairy’s costumes lifted.

It was time now to the start the scene the teacher came on stage and just like that all the feelings that every single kid that was on stage felt just went away for the next 15mins as it felt like we went in to a never world so then by start of the song which was ‘Freetime’ we all could feel that the audience where loving our scene. So it was time to start to do our dance you could see each and every audience members face just look at you to see what we going to do in this dance.

By the end of the song the audience loved the dance and you feel them wanting to come with us to the land of Freetime just by seeing the smiles on their face’s it was so powerful. So now that we came of stage we could feel that the audience cheers and happiness though the walls of the theatre.

1st Deft of the writing task 1,2 and 3

Hey everyone

i have put up my 1st Deft so have a look and till me what you think i should hope to have deft 2 up by next week sometime :)

Writing Task 3

Pinocchio has been around for 100’s of years and still helps bring family and new audience to its magical ways without ever feeling it’s a never old time book. But the Chickenshed version helps you feel so much a part of the show with its wonderful music and its amazing costumes and wonderful take on the story of dreams.

This is not the 1st time that Chickenshed have done this story and I am sure that it want be the last but the one unique thing about Chickenshed version of this show is that from the last time they did this piece there has been a lot changes to the show just by adding new characters and some new songs but all so keeping some of the most loved bits of the show from the last time like ‘free time’ to Another life to live’ but still keeping that Chickenshed magic in the heat of the piece.

I feel that it is so important to have show like Pinocchio to be put on at festive times like this as it is one of the only times of year where families friends and where everyone can be together enjoying this absolute amazing show that the wonderful Chickenshed are putting on in the theatre in Southgate.

Writing Task 2

Pinocchio taking from one of the most loved fairy tales in the world and now with Chickenshed new and original take on this wonderful story new people to love this story with original music and dance this production takes the audience in to a circus where they will meet some different and wonderful characters but still keeping the originlate of this story but with some fun and new characters on the way.

The circus theme helps take you well to the land of Pinocchio with the way the stage movies and takes you to the next part of the story and the amazing music which you will be singing along to be the end of the show. This take on such a classic story but putting a Morden twist to it makes you want to see it time and time again make it a classic piece in its own right.

The story helps you feel like you are a part of the show yourself as you feel you are part Pinocchio going throw all the different obstacles that Pinocchio has to go throw just to become a real boy with the help of the lovely and powerful bluefariy and the cricket that helps him think of wrong and right even if Pinocchio sometimes does not.

This show will make you cry, make you think, and will all so make you feel so Christmas all at once .

It’s one not to miss this year.

Writing Task 1

Roll up Roll up it’s that time of year it’s Christmas so come and join a cast of 200 and take a journey in to the land of Cheeky Fairies, Magical Fish , Puppets that dance and Little puppet called Pinocchio.

The story of the little puppet that all he wants is to be a real boy but Pinocchio trays too much to be a really boy but he does not see that he is upsetting his farther Geppetto by being so Cheeky. Pinocchio is taking on one of the most crazy journeys that a puppet goes to the circus to a place called free time with little cheeky school boys to meet a Fox and Cat which he ends up in the sea and then back in time for tea ‘Wood we lie to you’

This year come and be part of one of the world’s most loved stories. With music and dancing and heart worming moments and all so not for getting the cheeky moments too. So come along be part of this wonderful story.

Pinocchio opens on Wednesday 9 December 2009 with performances at 3.30pm and 7.30pm until Saturday 16 January 2010. Schools matinee performances at 12pm and 1pm

Links of Interests Part 2

Dance
One of my big Interests is Dance as I feel that with dance I can be free and be able to feel that’s MySpace to feel powerful and confident. I was in to dance but I never had the chance to show my skills and be able to feel that it is a part of who I am and it’s because of my time at Chickenshed and the people at Chickenshed showing me that if I believe and work hard at what I want to do I would achieve my dreams.

Music
Music has been a big part of my life since I was young. It has all ways been a big part of my work and anything I ever did. Music has all ways helped me with my work and when I felt that I was stack in a bad place in my work. Music to me is one of my things I need all time just like food and drink it is a major part of me.

Kolb (School Boys Rehearsal for the Xmas Show)

Concerted experience
This year in the Christmas show I am a part of the school boys for the show called ‘Pinocchio’ which we will doing from the 9th December to the 16th January 2010 as part of the school boys we have had 6 weeks of rehearsal just on our scene’s in these six week with have look at are characters and how we fit in to the run of the show. The school boys have a big mix of age group some of the boys are 7 and the oldest boys are in there 20’s. As I have been a part of many Xmas show for the past 5 years gained a lot of experience working with children in the shows for me I can take in all the stuff I have done for the past 5 years and use them to help take on this group and be able to happy with this group. As for this as I am doing all the show I have been given a big part in the rehearsal part of this show which 1st it was a big thing for me but as the weeks have gone by I feel that I have learnt so much from the group and all so about the way I work.

Reflective observation
I have found that by working so close with this group that I found that the best way to work with them is by doing the piece of movement with them and not stand out and taking a look at what they are doing to see if it is right I feel that it just does not work like that and the only way I feel that they are going to feel it and be able to pick things up by showing them. I feel that by the staff letting me take on this big job that I feel this will push me in my area of work not only I am having to do this now I will be have to keep this up for the rest of the xmas show as in the points that they are not stage I will be use this time re look at the scene as the show does change all the time it cannot be the same show every day it needs to be its best every show this would be the time for it to grow.

Abstract conceptualisation
I have taking on show much in the past 6 weeks from this 1hr and a half session that I can take to my next big project that I am working on. I feel that in these six weeks I have found that it does take a lot of time to make something that start as an idea and help it came alive takes a lot of time and all so takes and lot understanding from you and the people you’re working with I feel that this scene is going to be such a success as I feel that the groups that I have been working in have bought to the Pont where I can feel really proudly.

Active experimentation
I feel that from what I have learnt in from these rehearsals I can take all of it in to a workshop and use them and be able to put something to give knowing that it works as I have been able to try it out myself and know it works. All I have been able now to know how to teach new things to people in the right way for myself and for them and all remembering that everyone does have their own way of learning and to know that anything I do I will learn from and can all ways take something from it and us it in my own work and practise. One part that I have taken from the rehearsal is that if you believe in what you are doing then people will understand it more and will take it in and I have found that this does work with the kids and I will started to do this more in my next project that i take on or be a part of.

Tina Turner People People I admire

Tina has all ways has been a big idol of ever since I was a child my dad would all ways play lots of her songs. It was when I was in my 2nd year of my degree one of my close’s friend gave me the DVD of life I truly started to admire her just because all the things she had to go through just to be able to do what she loved and to still be stronger made me believe with some will power and just by working hard any dream can come true even if you have people standing in your way.

Links of interest Chickenshed and aslo a company i admia

‘That understanding is just as relevant for members today. Every extraordinary piece of theatre they create at Chickenshed shouts out the same thing: anyone can thrive in an environment where everyone is welcome.’
( piece of text takeing from http://www.chickenshed.org.uk/ )

I feel that Chickenshed has helped me achieve my dream of been a dance by letting me be a part of their company and a part of their work. Chickenshed just gave me so much confidant’s to take up my dancing and to believe in myself. This was the first time fleet that I was wanted and that all my dreams can come true.

Jennifer Lopez People I admire

Jennifer Lopez started as dance befor going into music and flims as much as I like her films I feel that I am more inspard with her dance career . all though her style of dance is Hip Hop and Street dance I feel the hard work she put’s in to her movement just makes me want to push my self so much more in my dance career.

Todays work at MDX with Lauren Danyle and Murat

First thing we did to complete this tasks was learn Kolb’s learning cycle. This consisted of four different cycles of learning criteria. The first of the four criteria is concrete experience. This is when you have done or had the experience. The second is reflective observation which is when you review or reflect on a previous experience put into practice. Further we have abstract conceptualisation which is when you find a conclusion or learn from your experience. Lastly is active experimentation which is taking what you have concluded and learnt and testing these theories.
Once we had established Kolb’s learning cycle we were given a piece of text to pick out criteria from Kolb’s cycle. We came to the conclusion that the majority of the text given to us was from the person’s point of view and what they concluded. So we believe the text to be mostly reflective but also abstract because they explain what they have learnt from it. We then had to add the criteria from the cycle that was missing in a hypothetical sense which helped us establish the cycle so that we can put it into practice.
